We just bought our house last summer and we are totally clueless to landscaping. There is a flower bed about 6×1 right outside the entrance walkway. Ofcourse there is nothing but weeds in it right now but I would like to put something in there that is easy to maintain that can resist alot of direct sun. We’re in Texas and temps can get up to 105. Any ideas? Also, do I plant seeds or the flowers you get in the little containers. Much detail is requested as I have no idea what to do.

I am beginning to make flower arrangements and need a safe way to store the flowers that aren’t yet in arrangements so they won’t get crushed. Some flowers will snap back but some won’t, I don’t want to find out if mine will or not as some of them are a little expensive. I currently have them loosley stored in stacked boxes inside a small walk-in closet. I would like a way I can store them upright where I can see them and not have them all smushed together. Thanks!

I am planning a large, informal activity for our church. The theme is "Autumn Nights". Just to give you an idea of the direction I’m going…instead of a standard refreshment table we’re doing a Caramel Apple bar, with quartered apples, a couple fondue fountains with caramel and chocolate, and some crushed nuts, butterfinger, etc…for people to dip their apples in. I am definitely going to use autumn leaves to decorate, and a full moon, but I don’t know what to use on the tables. There will be 8 – 10 small round tables and I would like to make centerpieces that are low but I don’t know where to go to get inspiration for which flowers to use or anything. Any ideas? Thanks!

I am the maid of honor and have been asked for help by the bride. Due to family politics, a 3-year old girl will be in the ceremony against the bride’s will. My future sister-in-law is having a wedding and she made me matron of honor. Since, as we all know, money’s tight everywhere I’m planning it with her help. She likes blue. She hates roses. And she isn’t the daisy type. I sent her a cactus flower last year, which she promptly set outside and hasn’t looked at it sense except when I pointed out that there were flowers blooming on it. They would have to be ordered online for delivery, because the nearest florist is about 30 miles away and she always goes into town when I go, so it wouldn’t be a surprise. So, you might as well suggest a site if you think they would deliver to the boon-docks.

There isn’t much shade and I live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, so it’s a pretty humid, hot, and VERY sunny climate.

I’m pre-planning for my wedding. I’d like to get married in May or June. I’ve read that people save $ by incorporating flowers that are getting ready to go out of season. Is this true? Or did I understand it wrong?
