I want to leave some roses on a friend’s doorstep tomorrow. The low temp for tomorrow is projected at 40 degrees. So assuming worst case scenario and saying maybe she doesn’t get them for a few hours, how would roses do in a vase with water at that temperature?

Roses do well in cold temperatures, in fact before arriving in the store or at the florist they are kept in very cold temps to keep them fresh. They should be fine.

They should be fine if you have them in a vase

Leave the wrapper on … and they"ll be just fine… untill it gets below 34 degrees

That should be fine but I wouldn’t leave it out like that for too long since most flowers wilt after going from somewhere cold into a warmer place ( such as a house of 75+ degrees )
