Are green orchids and purple lilacs an odd combination to have for a bridemaid bouquet?

Also, how would these colors look against a canary yellow dress? This is for a spring wedding. Thanks

Hi. I think this will look nice. However, are you talking REAL lilacs? If so…..don’t do it!!! They are too powerful of a smell and if anyone is at all allergic, watch out….there will be sneezing fits and watery eyes.

I live in an area with lots of lilac bushes. I love to cut them and bring them inside….but the smell is sometimes so overwhelming that I end up throwing them out. Also….these grow on bushes….so the stems are really thick and once they are cut…they really don’t last long…especially if they are not in water.

If you are doing silks…then no problem!

I think that sounds like a very pretty, "springy" combination. Good luck!!

That is a great combo, but to save on money, you should get light purple stock instead of the lilac. It is very similar. Also, green dendrobium orchids are generally cheaper, but smaller than the cymbidiums.
